Winners of International Contest WRITE YOUR QUESTION FOR THE GEOGRAPHICAL DICTATION – 2023 determined

The official website of the Russian Geographical Society https://www.RGS.ru/ru held the international competition "Write Your Question for the Geographical Dictation – 2023" in preparation for the international educational campaign "Geographical Dictation".

Here are the names of the winners and runners-up.

The winners of the contest will be invited to the central venue of the Dictation of 2023.

In addition, within the framework of the main contest, a series of short thematic contests focused on the main theme of 2023 – the Year of the Teacher and Mentor celebrated in the Russian Federation – was held. We remind you that in each topic we chose two winners. The "Students" sent the most interesting facts that they learned thanks to their teachers, and the "Mentors" shared unusual questions that their students asked.

In addition, the expert commission also noted three questions, whose authors will receive memorable prizes as runners-up:

  • Snegireva Aliya Fanzilovna, the village of Sizevo (Udmurt Republic);
  • Sanjib Dutta Roy, Patna (India);
  • Sharikova Olga Leonidovna, Voronezh.

All the authors of the best questions will be awarded a Certificate and the main prize – a tourist trip with an open date along one of the routes recommended by the RGS.

In total, 651 question authors took part in the contests this year.

The international contest "Write Your Question for the Geographical Dictation" received 461 questions from 67 regions of Russia, as well as 12 questions from six foreign countries: Belarus, Lebanon, Germany, Moldova, Mongolia, India.

Participants from 43 regions of Russia and three foreign countries sent 190 questions to the thematic contests on seven topics.
